Stock Yards
Designed from Standard Plans, other railroad documents, and photographs, this
kit represents the many stock yards responsible for generating the spring and
fall stock rushes. Can be built to represent the early stock yards, or
later replacements. Basic kit (shown above) includes two pens,
double deck chute, crowding pen, wing fence, and alley.
 | All material is marked to size and/or cut to shape. |
| Can be built with older "open" walls (pen on right in photo) or
"enclosed" walls (left in photo). |
| Walls, gates, and ramps are cut in panels that require only the addition of
posts or supports for easy assembly.

| Chutes are cut to shape, and includes all items necessary
for use with double and single deck cars. |
| Because of the inherently fragile nature of the structure, a base is
also included with holes drilled for the posts to
assist with assembly. |
| Two kits can be joined for a double chute facility.
|
| Optional extra pen includes four walls and a gate, designed to stand alone
or attach to the Stock Yards for a larger facility. |
| Completed basic kit is 60' deep by 75' wide. |
