Vance Junction Coal Pocket

Located at the point where the Telluride branch separated from the Rio
Grande Southern mainline, this coal pocket served to coal the hungry
narrow gauge locomotives on their climb up Lizard Head Pass to the
south, or Dallas Divide to the north. Designed from measurements
of the existing structure and railroad documents, this model faithfully
represents the prototype to the smallest detail. In addition
to the coal pocket, this kit includes the auxiliary coal bin, stairs,
and timber retaining wall. Includes jigs for easy assembly
and real wood shingles.
Pocket is 55' L x 11' D (HO 7.5" x
1.5"). Aux bin is 72' L x 13' D (HO 10" x 1.75")
